On Quantitatively Measuring Controllability of Complex Networks
نویسنده
چکیده
This letter deals with the controllability issue of complex networks. An index is chosen to quantitatively measure the extent of controllability of given network. The effect of this index is observed based on empirical studies on various classes of network topologies, such as random network, small-world network, and scale-free network.

Exact controllability of complex networks
Controlling complex networks is of paramount importance in science and engineering. Despite the recent development of structural controllability theory, we continue to lack a framework to control undirected complex networks, especially given link weights. Here we introduce an exact controllability paradigm based on the maximum multiplicity to identify the minimum set of driver nodes required to...
متن کاملOn Almost Controllability of Dynamical Complex Networks with Noises
This paper discusses the controllability problem of complex networks. It is shown that almost any weighted complex network with noise on the strength of communication links is controllable in the sense of Kalman controllability. The concept of almost controllability is elaborated by both theoretical discussions and experimental verifications.
متن کاملControllability of Deterministic Networks with the Identical Degree Sequence
Controlling complex network is an essential problem in network science and engineering. Recent advances indicate that the controllability of complex network is dependent on the network's topology. Liu and Barabási, et.al speculated that the degree distribution was one of the most important factors affecting controllability for arbitrary complex directed network with random link weights. In this...
متن کاملAnalysis of the Effect of Degree Correlation on the Size of Minimum Dominating Sets in Complex Networks
Network controllability is an important topic in wide-ranging research fields. However, the relationship between controllability and network structure is poorly understood, although degree heterogeneity is known to determine the controllability. We focus on the size of a minimum dominating set (MDS), a measure of network controllability, and investigate the effect of degree-degree correlation, ...
متن کاملEffects of Edge Directions on the Structural Controllability of Complex Networks
Recent advances indicate that assigning or reversing edge direction can significantly improve the structural controllability of complex networks. For directed networks, approaching the optimal structural controllability can be achieved by detecting and reversing certain "inappropriate" edge directions. However, the existence of multiple sets of "inappropriate" edge directions suggests that diff...
